Harumi Gals

HARUMI YAMAGUCHI. THE ARTIST WHO IS / WAS / WILL ALWAYS BE OUT OF THIS WORLD CLASS / OFF THE SCALE OF ONE TO TEN AND BACK AGAIN / A SPACESHIP ON THE AUTOBAHN / AN INTERPLANETARY
OCCUPANT OF THE
AIRBRUSH HALL OF FAME.
IE. THAT GOOD.

This book. An IDEA all time superbook. Huge and hugely impressive. The BIGGEST achievement in hypergraphic hyperbolic art.

Love the Kacere book of photorealistic derrières, LOVE this double page air-sprayed fantasy. At the 2009 IDEA store at St Martins Lane Hotel this was displayed on the pressure mounted Vitsoe shelving in the window. Past goals - if such things exist - which they should - as we have many of them.

Putting herself in the picture. Harumi Yamaguchi was a commercial artist in the 1970s. She was the preeminent airbrush artist in Japan and the leading female graphic artist in the world. The boxing image was used as a poster for Mann's Wines. The image is based on the artist herself. The image on the right remaining close to the original photographic self-portrait.

More often than not Harumi's figures were westernised 'Gals' in both name and appearance. Absorb this multilayered fantasia and scroll on down.

How cool is really cool? The graphic art is as good as it gets but these self-portrait life studies are even better. This is the cultural significance. This is your CSM dissertation right here.

In the world we inhabit an airbrush illustration of a Land Camera having taken a Polaroid picture of a dinosaur/Loch Ness Monster is really the high point of artistic expression.
