Paris Vogue par Caroline de Monaco

LESSER KNOWN, POSSIBLY. LESSER NEVER. THESE
THREE SPECIAL DECEMBRE ISSUES OF PARIS VOGUE
ARE NOT PLACED HERE IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE.
THESE THREE ARE SIMPLY
THE MOST SPECIAL, THE
MOST REMARKABLE ISSUES. THIS IS THE GUIDE TO THE GREATER VOGUES

Paris Vogue par Caroline de MonacoCaroline est par Andy Warhol on the cover. Caroline, the then 26 year old daughter of Prince Rainier of Monaco and Princess Grace, cleverly chose to make herself the subject as well as the editor of this special Decembre 1983 issue. The Christmas guest editorship had been an annual tradition of Paris Vogue since Françoise Sagan in 1969. This Caroline / Warhol issue has to be the most successful and sought after of them all...

Collage girl. Caroline with yacht and royal palace as accessories in this assemblage by Helmut Newton. This collage photostory is proper cut out and keep!

Two truly inspired elements. The Guy Bourdin shoot on the Orient Express is best illustrated with the watch thief's garter belt and hint of sky blue underwear. On the right a reprise from The New Yorker 1972 but with the added bonus of another too cute collage. Caroline is president of the Monte Carlo Ballet but may never have presided over Woody's " The Spell ", in which Prince Sigmund falls in love with Yvette, the Swan woman. She was unfortunately divided between swan and woman lengthwise.

Statuesque. Jeanloup Sieff closes out the issue. The magazine is just no more or less than super good. See more on this link. Click the link below to buy.
