Roman Polanski Why?
WE STILL CANNOT QUITE BELIEVE THIS. POLANSKI WHY? POLANSKI HOW? THERE ARE TIMES WHEN OUR OWN INTENSE DESIRE TO FIND A SUPERBOOK OR AN AMAZINE MUST SURELY BE SO STRONG AS TO ACTUALLY MAKE THEM MATERIALISE.
We would say WHAT???!! We have dreams of this kind of thing. Then last week in Tokyo we see spine of this tall thin book about the size of a an eighties Interview magazine and it just says Roman Polanski and we are scared to get it down in case it is not a total superbook and there is a kind of stand-off while we project everything onto it we could possibly want it to be and then...
It is! Like wow! Start with the covers. Completely inexplicable and wonderful and how could you get it more right and then look at these pages!! It's big remember. It is completely stunning - like Catherine Deneuve is stunning.
There was a book we wrote about before. Images Polanski. It will never be found again as it was a half-finished unpublished maquette. Well, part of our excitement over this book is that it is remarkably like that unpublished superbook. Pure. And visual.

How indeed. The book is exceptionally rare. Published in Japan in 1998. We found it by chance. That turns out to be easier than finding it by any more deliberate means! It's off the scale scarce.
