Tatler April Fool 1989

THE ULTIMATE AMAZINE.

TATLER APRIL (FOOL) ISSUE FROM 1989. YES THAT IS VIVIENNE WESTWOOD AS MARGARET THATCHER. YES

IT IS ONE OF THE GREATEST RAREST MOST PERFECTLY PITCHED POP CULTURAL MOMENTS IN BRITISH

POLITICAL HISTORY. BUY IT, FRAME IT AND LOOK AT IT EVERY DAY FOREVER.

This really is hard to find now. The ultimate fashion meets pop meets posh meets politics amazine. Vivienne Westwood as her nemesis, photographed by the great Michael Roberts.

For an April Fool's joke it was brilliantly achieved. But it is so much more than a joke. These were two British women with a huge impact on the world; the same world they were both impacting on, note, just coming at it from slightly different angles.

It was only last week we were writing about Dafydd Jones and his new book England: The Last Hurrah (final signed copies here). Well, this same Viv Westwood Tatler has one of the best ever Dafydd photographed Bystander party sections.

Including this terrific picture.

And these two wannabes. No one in the world takes party pics as good as Dafydd - that is all we have to say on the matter. His
Oxford book (with the Boris Johnson college pic) is also back - and here, signed, on the store.

But this is about the
Tatler. One copy only on the true blue button below.
