Google Volume 1

IN BETWEEN DAYS. MIND THE YAWNING GAP BETWEEN CHRISTMAS AND NEW

YEAR. TAKE A QUANTUM

LEAP WITH A GREAT

SLIPPED-BETWEEN-THE-CRACKS SUPERBOOK. THIS

IS GOOGLE VOLUME 1. MINT

IN SHRINK FROM 2013.

Three inches thick! Why? Because this book counts the whole of the internet amongst its one thousand, three hundred plus pages.

Authors Felix Heyes and Ben West (aka artist duo King Zog) took the 21,110 words found in the Oxford English Pocket Dictionary and Googled them. They pulled the first image that came up for each and printed them all. The words are removed but it runs alphabetically and you can kind of do the word-math. This spread runs from 'commando' to 'computer'.

The verb 'to Google' entered the dictionary in 2006, so that will be in here somewhere. Not on this spread though. This is somewhere about half way though the alphabet. P for peach or N for nectarine maybe... Anyone feeling interactive can email us with some answers.

It's easier when there's text. Got to be years of fun, working out every one of the 20K plus pictures. Enjoy.

This copy still mint in shrink. It felt historic when we first saw it. It is now very rare of course. Volume 1 may have hinted at editions to come but none followed. This one and only edtion of 1000 copies sold out and disappeared. It's unfindable now. Save for this copy. This can be yours. It is for sale. On the red button below.
