ÚLTIMO! Yves Uro - yes, we made a book of his works Urovision - freehand crash zoom poster collage cover. A thousand and one Ibizan nights and it works!

For the completely uninitiated, Ku was a nightclub. A huge sprawling indoor / outdoor club that was easily the biggest such venue in Europe in the 80s. It was also cash only and immensely popular which meant two things: one, they didn't need to do international press or promotion so its huge cultural significance still remains something of a shrouded secret and - two, they had vast cash resources to make hundreds and hundreds of posters, T-shirts, logo-printed tanga briefs and BOOKS! 

The books were a record of the club and its many, many nights of wildly fun parties and also a guide to the island. This double page above is a survey of Bars Of Class. These books are unrivalled historic documents to a scene that otherwise kept itself to itself. Under the covers are genuine treasures of pleasure island.

Like this Ku by Yves Uro sweatshirt that we have never ever seen in real life and only just noticed in this (now blown up) picture detail.

It is among the more modest of garments featured. This 'get-your-rocks-off' number is far more typical daywear.

And this is possibly the most remarkable belted bikini ever captured on film.

Ku's generosity extended to running ads in their book for a new club. Space opened in 1986. This poster is also by Yves Uro.

Another detail we previously missed. Ku had a beach! See the logo branded loungers.

We are cutting this glowing review of an incredible superbook a little short and ending on the classic topless out of the dragon's mouth and into the Ku pool (yes they had a full swimming pool in the club) because... well, it is Christmas and there is a lot more to write about.
