A DECADE TO FIND THIS!
MARK LEBON'S LONDON
(WEST) TRUE LIFE 2F2. MADE FOR AND WITH HYSTERIC GLAMOUR. A DIARY OF CREATIVE LONDON LIFE IN IMMEDIATE FIRST PERSON
TEXT AND PHOTOGRAPHS
AND INCLUDING GLEN LUCHFORD AND MARIO SORRENTI, JUDY BLAME, JEREMY HEALY AND MARK'S YOUNG SON TRYONE...

We almost forgot we were looking for it. We had it once before but that was ten years ago. It is very, very good. And, annoyingly, equally scarce. Mark Lebon for Hysteric Glamour - words and pictures from west London 1992-1993 published in Japan in 1994. The rest is only history now - the result of finally writing this.

The book is written in the first person and without a great deal of capital letters and in a flow which is kind close to a stream of unconsciousness - chatty is a good descriptor.

It is fantastically friends and fam. This is the lovely Glen Luchford modelling a skinny fit Hysteric shirt. Glen's flatmate at the time was...

...Mario Sorrenti. In these days before the internet and mobile phones, everything was connected (by talent and creativity).

Mark's text for this picture of his friend Andrew is typical of the prose style: "andrew who was once consdered a fashion wally is now revered having worked for ysl and zuly bet he is now directing films."

Judy Blame in a blur.

Michael Kopelman smiling out of a page of heavily overlaid text. There is a lot of writing and it is all personal and all about Mark's family and friends and their working lives. A quite remarkable documentary across these pages.

Tyrone above - the sweetest pic. There is a lot about Tyrone in the book. Frank Lebon, Tryone's brother was not born until 1993 and missed the print deadline.
