MARTIN KIPPENBERGER IS SEHR GUT. WE DON'T KNOW HOW MANY MORE PICTURE NEWSPAPERS THERE ARE TO FIND FROM CIRCA 1979 BUT THIS ONE IS VERY GOOD INDEED. AND RARE. AND EXPENSIVE. A MUSEUM GRADE SUPER FIND AND NOW ALL YOU NEED IS £900 AND A MUSEUM (AND WE CAN THINK OF AT LEAST FIVE PEOPLE READING THIS WHO HAVE BOTH)!

It's big. A broadsheet newspaper in the style of Newspaper, Picture Newspaper, New York Rocker Pix, Bowie's ISOLAR and quite a few more we have had before. But this one is by Martin Kippenberger.

Rogues' gallery. Really is a cast list for the great downtown avant-garde Berlin meets New York film that was never made: the dollar printing artist Anne Jud, Glenn Branca, Lydia Lunch, the sculptor Meuser, the drummer Christine Hahn.

And then there is Nathan Ingram in the video box cover pic from Charlie Ahearn's Deadly Act of Survival. This was Ahearn's first film before Wild Style and is described thus: A martial art instructor struggles against drug dealers operating from a rival karate school called the disco dojo. You can hear the projector on this YouTube rip of the 16mm film.

Also this one page super powered appropriated nude. Somewhat in the style of Hans Feurer (just without the clothes). Kippenberger includes a complex index of all pages on the cover of SEHR GUT. This page is described as Franzoesin aus der Dachwohnung - french chick from penthouse. Meaning French and Penthouse.

The ever cool James Chance on the left hand page. On the right Klaus Krüger, the drummer from Tangerine Dream.

This is, quite evidently, a jacket. There is a whole double page spread of cut out clothing. Kombinat Leder is the only clue as to what and why. We know we like it - maybe that is all we need to know.

The rich imagery just keeps coming. 44 pages of the world circa 1979. Past, present and future. These from the the past: Brigitte Bardot and Alain Delon above and Anthony Quinn (we assume) with various cafe types - at least four of whom look legendary cool.

Back cover lover. Comes with a free Kippenberger.
It's very, very good. It is pretty expensive. But then you can watch this YouTube video and think of this as small change :)
It is also in fabulous condition, and perfectly preserved, which, considering the life and death of Martin Kippenberger, is quite some thing.
