The Disney Look

PEOPLE LOOKING COOL.

THAT'S THE IDEA OF IDEA.

NOT THIS WEEK THOUGH. 'PEOPLE LOOKING DISNEY'

IS OUR NEW FAVOURITE

THEME. HERE WE ARE PRESENTING THE ULTIMATE STYLE GUIDE OF 1987:
THE "DISNEY LOOK".

They have it: the Disney Look. One assumes that is not Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzenberg and the senior executive team posing for their Christmas card. You are looking at the cover of the style guide for members of the Disney working class of 1987.

It comes with a full set of instructions. Including hair-do's and don't's. We were a little surprised that 'teasing' was dealt with in the hair section - see Bavarian boy below.

Teased to near death every day, surely. Others are more fortunate and fall on the slightly more uniform than costume side of the line. Like...

Princess Diana herself. A cherry buttoned blouse for the natural beauty.

Hair-don'ts illustrated on a looseleaf sheet because certain popular styles have emerged, presumably late in 1987. The Straight Block seems harsh tbh.

Annual reviews of the necessity of wigs - like, what, you are suddenly going to grow your hair back? And, note, do not lose your fairy wand / plastic sword - they will charged at the gift shop rate!

For most of the eighties, Bruce Springsteen could just pin on a badge and turn up to work.

So true! This archive guide and historic document is just ten pages in total but ever so havetohaveable. We found one in the world and you can make it your own on the button below.
