The Haçienda Must Be Built

HOW DID WE NEVER EVER WRITE ABOUT THIS BOOK? POSSIBLY BECAUSE WE NEVER EVER HAD TWO

COPIES AT THE SAME TIME. THAT TIME HAS ARRIVED.

AND JUST AS THE HAÇIENDA MUST BE BUILT SO MUST IT

BE ENSHRINED FOREVER IN SUPERBOOK STATUS. THE HAÇIENDA BOOK MUST BE WRITTEN ABOUT.

FAC 351. The book. Published in 1992. Ten years after it first opened. And five years before it finally closed. A decade of peculiarly Mancunian decadence.

A decade of dance. Graeme Park dancing to his own DJ set.

As we said. Peculiarly Mancunian (note the umbrellas). Students do you think? Dodging the rain and the bullets.

Graphic section to the back of the book includes the first birthday poster.

Smart casual. Beginning to get a bit baggy. See the text below...

Second wave that will soon manifest itself as Happy Mondays, The Stone Roses, Inspiral Carpets... Oasis. Madchester basically.

Flesh. The gay rave night. Last Wednesday of the month from October 1991.

And taking it right back. The Haçienda was a live venue as well as a club. A few of the more unlikely live dates that in the first twelve months of the club include; Psychic TV and William Burroughs, Grandmaster Flash, The Smiths (supporting 52nd Street), John Cale. What did we miss?!

The book is freakish hard to find. And us finding two is even freakier. Let's sell them both now!
