What Kind of House Party is This?

IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. NOT THE PARTYING - THE DESIGN OF THIS BOOK!! JONATHAN FLEMING'S TRULY VISUALLY NINETIES TRIPTASTIC WHAT KIND OF HOUSE PARTY IS THIS? ONE OF THE GREAT SUPERBOOK TITLES AND AN INSPIRED QUESTION. THE MORE YOU LOOK AT IT, THE HARDER IT IS TO ANSWER.

Good grief! He's thrown everything but Everything But The Girl at that cover (although, even if Tracey Thorn is 'Missing', Todd Terry must be in the book somewhere). What a cover!

And inside... Inside it is even better! You may not like it but you are looking at the ultimate rave scene visual reference book right now. Kaleidoscopic fractal chaos theory with butterfly wings on.

The book begins with a series of profiles and portraits of key DJs on the scene. And that section begins with Amnesia's Alfredo. An interview with the man who made the Balearic beat no less.

And takes the story back to London for Danny Rampling's Shoom and the kind of warehouse party not so quietly kicking off all over the UK right now.

Plus an interview with the huge influence that was the late great Andrew Weatherall.

Fashion wise it's a perfect disaster. By which we mean BRING IT BACK!

It is a big book btw. At 432 pages, there is A LOT to digest - and a lot of it is pretty indigestible. By which we mean BRING IT BACK UP!

Too much to do justice to in this one newsletter. But this picture is our favourite. It was taken by the Fleming and inspired him to write to Kodak - he had spotted something in the picture that was perhaps... otherworldly.

Please note that we have written this far down the newsletter and not mentioned drugs once!

The paranormal classical nun.

Not so sure the Kodak company could quite explain what is going on in this full page collage. A party for sure. But
What Kind of House Party is This?

OK. OK. The book is rare enough and brilliant enough for everyone. And this time we have more than one copy! In fact, in a quick calculation, we have one copy for every 450 people reading this newsletter. Not bad!!

They are on the button below. Be that one in four hundred and fifty!
