Extra unordinary. Awe and then some. Out of this world class. All the phrases we ever employed to try and say that this week's best book ever is indeed the best book ever (this week).

Because this book is not a meme. It is an actual factual spiritual guide to playing better tennis. It is also something of a masterwork of outsider graphic design. We don't properly know what 'Ki' is but...

...we are guessing this is a photographic representation of Ki in action.



Loving the SSSSWWEEEEEPPP! Baba Rick begins his book with a powerful statement: 
 

You already know how to play tennis - if you can conceive of it - you can do it. 



Fortunately, he didn't write any brain surgery books. He continues...
 

You just have to get out of the way and let it happen. 

Which is terrible advice for goalkeepers but we get it. Ego out and Ki and SSSSWWEEEEEPPP!

Obviously, this being 1973, there are some chapters that explore terrains not typically tied to tennis technique. 

One thing can lead to another. This chapter title page is just too fabulous to even attempt to explain.

Despite the turban, Baba Rick himself was not of Indian origin. He just looks more like he was when viewed through the strings of a seventies tennis racket. Baba Rick grew up in Michigan and served in the US army: 
 

Following the service I spent some bachelor years making up for lost time.
However, though I owned and raced my own sailboat, belonged to a yacht club, drove fast cars,took flying lessons, had a good paying job in Detroit and lived well in the suburbs, nothing satisfied me.
 

We feel much the same way. Although we have a lovely office and store in London's Soho, write about staggeringly daft books every week and pay for it all selling hats, nothing satisfied us - until we found Yoga Tennis that is...
