BEST COVER EVER! SUPER SCARCE 1994 COMME DES GARÇONS FOLDING POSTER BOOK. ALL ABOUT THE STORES IN JAPAN AND NEW YORK AND THE CUSTOMERS THAT SHOPPED THEM. IT'S WHAT WE (MEANING YOU TOO) ALWAYS WANTED.
Fantastic. Design by BEANS. About as good as a sheet of paper can get. Only it is not one just one sheet. It is the cover of a huge folding enterprise.

We have made it look small. It is not. 24 panels and over a metre wide. Thanks to the sliced horizontal line in the middle, this is also one of the most complex folds imaginable! The subject is the stores. And their customers.

Nami Yonetani, a graphic designer, is struck by the window displays (it says on the bottom).

"I drop by here often. It has a different approach from other stores."
Yoshimasa Mimura, Student
There is of course also the possibility that he has just noticed that he can jump high enough to see into the changing room behind him.

It is also full of fun visual facts. Junya Watanabe's own line (and bags) would only be two years old and only womenswear. Les Coureurs store is still there in Sendai City but now carries Comme des Garçons SHIRT.

Wonderful text about spotting the New York Comme store in 9½ Weeks aka the best film ever of course.

Comme Tricot display with stuffed shirts and Sellotape ball heads. Junya to the rear.

And this is your back cover. Another classic of composition.
The whole folding thing is amazing. And you can own it. By buying it on the purple button below. Let's go!
