Clockwork Orange

SO HERE IT IS. THE EVER SO SUPER SCARCE 1972 FIRST EDITION OF A MOVIE NOVEL LIKE NO OTHER. THE FRAME-

BY-FRAME, COMIC BOOK

STYLE PAGE TURNER. AKA. STANLEY KUBRICK'S CLOCKWORK ORANGE. A DESIGN CLASSIC AND A REVELATION IN FORM.

MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Not ever an easy find. Not in hardback first edition with dustwrapper and looking like this fifty years since the day it was published. A time bomb still ticking.

Inside. The book goes scene by scene and, in many cases, frame by frame. See above, the title cards.

Stills, on screen direction and dialogue. The film as (photo)graphic novel.

Excellent explanation. If only all books could begin with some clarity (and maintain it until the end).

The second movement of Beethoven's 9th Symphony. The rhythm of the montage edit. The scene that these pages are reframing can be viewed on this
YouYube link

From the back cover. Probably our favourite photograph of the director. 16mm camera in hand. Ready to shoot.

And the iconography. Eyes Wide Open. Alex aka Malcolm McDowell undergoing a re-education. "
I was cured all right."

The book is very wantable. It looks AMAZING. We have been hiding them away until NOW. Like the three kings at the manger all coming bearing a copy of the 1972 first edition :)
