This is the Udo Kier book that we never knew existed until our friend Christopher Niquet (who knows everything) showed us his copy. Only 100 were made. We found the only copy on the open market. No. 62. You are looking at it. 
 

One reason why this book is so very special - Udo Kier was exceptionally beautiful! Another reason - that knitted tie. 
 

Damn. The book is a photographic record of Kier from baby to child to teen and beyond. This beach body pose from way before he made his first film. That came in 1966 with The Road to St Tropez when Kier was 22. 
 

Throughout his career, Kier was open about his sexuality. Whether he told the Vienna Boy's Choir is another matter. This double page is so delightfully composed :)
 

1974 as Count Dracula in Andy Warhol's Blood for Dracula directed by Paul Morrissey. He had already worked the same magic in Flesh For Frankenstein.
 

Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Kier and Fassbinder were underage hustlers, and, reportedly, lovers, growing up in Germany. They reunited in the late seventies with Kier appearing in a number of films; Lola, Lulu and Lili Marleen among them.

Kier has appeared in more than 250 films. He is still going now, finally playing the lead in Swan Song (2021). This book was published in 1991. From that date, Kier balanced roles in Gus Van Sant and Lars Von Trier films with terrific Hollywood bad guy turns in Ace Ventura Pet Detective (our favourite), Pamela Anderson's Barb Wire, Blade with Wesley Snipes. And he had a major role in the Madonna Sex book! Classic all.
