The Levis Crowd

MALE ORDER MADNESS.

NOTE THE CLEVER OMISSION OF THE APOSTROPHE IN

LEVI'S! ROBERT PAYNE (NOT

HIS REAL NAME) PRESENTS... THE LEVIS CROWD. AND

THEY DIDN'T JUST RIP OFF

THE JEANS (ACTUALLY, THAT

IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID) THEY GAVE THE BRAND A

FREE TRANSGRESSIONAL MAKEOVER CAMPAIGN.

The best deployment of the patchless pocket we have ever seen! That's high style right there. This is the very scarce indeed
The Levis Crowd. Undated but generally considered to be a product of 1970. Robert Payne was a pseudonym of the publisher and gay mail (male) order impresario John Embry. The photographs are very likely by the great Bob Mizer. The whole thing is shrouded in mystery (and denim).

Low slung before that was a thing, unbuttoned before Mark Marky Mark Wahlberg, turned up and cut short. Note - only the models are ripped.

"
Some guys don't even need the Levis. They have the look that tells you that if they had anything on, it would surely be Levis."  Extra unordinary work in the copywriting department!

And in the copyright department - they forgot to biro out the ' in that graphic logo.

Upper bodies to match the special denim effects down below.

George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley at the end of a long day shooting the Young Guns video (or so we would like to think).

Gay semiotics. Not sure if the shirtless leather jacket and jeans convey the desired meaning? Best carry a fistful of chains!

Back cover lover. The hokey-cokey of denim styling.

The book is BRILLIANT. That is all we need to say. It is also exceptionally hard to find. We have just one. And it is on the red button below. Let's go!
