Falling somewhere between concrete poet and typewriter artist at this stage of his career, Knowles was a teenage outsider artist that became a fixture of the New York avant garde art scene. Many of these text art pieces were incorporated verbatim into the libretto of Robert Wilson and Philip Glass's Einstein On The Beach. A very special book. 1979 first edition. Very good condition too.
